Rusty Mandala

I am so happy with this piece! I started with a piece of silky fabric I rusted with an organic disc design. I quilted it, added rusted cheesecloth, fabric strips, mesh and a ring covered in rusty yarn. Some beads and a gorgeous raku center bead from my fabulous friend Lisa Peters http://lisa-petersart.blogspot.com/

I stitched it onto a 14 inch brass hoop and added a hanger to the back.

Very organic and yummy! You've inspired me to try something with the mandalas in my collection.

WOW, that is really awesome!
I am impressed Linda, the way you are using that Rusted Fabric is really cool. I love the way you embellish very simply with a few seed beads, etc..
Well Done!
Thanks for using my Raku Bead too!

Wow indeed. Ditto to what Lisa wrote. This is simply beautiful, and I LOVE it! Your embellishment is so perfect...just enough and not too much. This is a gorgeous art work.

I'm very much into rusted anything myself, and have played around with rusting various fabrics and papers. I've collected quite a stash of rusted found objects from a local truck stop parking lot. Your work is very inspiring. I think I need to start using my rusted fabric, papers, and found objects more in my art.

Thanks for sharing and for the inspiration!
